What we say
Set in beautiful Herefordshire countryside alongside the River Wye, the Belmont Lodge and Golf Course enjoys a lovely parkland setting with views to the Black Mountains to the West and Hereford to the East with the Malvern Hills beyond.
The golf course at Belmont boasts five par 5s and eight par 4s [ranging from 319 yards to 467 yards] is designed to test both the high and low handicap player. The first nine mostly takes the higher ground whilst the second nine runs alongside the River Wye whiuch actually comes into play on at least five of the holes on the more intimidating back nine.

This (once lovely) course closed permanently on 1 March 2014. It is a mystery why it is still featured and readers are still encouraged to "buy vouchers now".

Played Belmont a few weeks back, but i found it a very decent course, with some stunning settings on the start of the back nine running along side the river Wye. The pro was very friendly and when I asked him for some equipment info he was more than willing to help My only fault was that the 150 yard markers were missing off a number of the holes, but this did not spoil what was a great day out! Good tees, good greens and all in between played very well. Also has a very decent pint as well at the 19th!!!

I played this course on two of the sunniest days of the year to date and was really looking forward to it after reading previous reviews on TG. The front 9 is set up on the high ground and has some fantastic views of the surrounding countryside but the holes are just plain with no real challenge or hazards. The back 9 mostly run alongside the river Wye but yet again there is no real challenge unless you hit it into the river. The stroke index 1 is the easiest I have ever played and some of the tees on the back 9 need work on them. Greens are in good condition. I know it sounds as though I didn’t enjoy the course and that would be wrong because I did, “but” it was just a bit ordinary. (I might be missing something!) The staff are very helpful and it was fantastic value for money. If you are looking for an easier or more straight forward course ,then this course is ideal for you.

A warm welcome awaits all who venture to Belmont Lodge and Golf in Hereford thanks to the friendly ambience created by the Manager and his staff. The course is stunning, difficult enough to test the expert and forgiving enough for the novice, thereby creating an enjoyable experience for all. The accommodation, restaurant and bar facilities are excellent and in all represents tremendous value for money. Look out for the special promotions. Robin Hill

First impressions when driving in was WOW! it looked amazing... very warm welcome, reception were first class and facilities outstanding.... and so to the course, probably one of the most picturesque settings I have played to date, some of the holes were quite stunning this is by no means an easy track especially the back 9 which is near the river some excellent holes that require alot of thought... but unfortunately there is a downside which is a real disappointment `the tees` alot of them were in a real state, ok so they probably get alot of traffic but most them werent even flat....the greens were ok but not great for this time of year and the bunkers were well below average just hard sand... so if these silly little faults were put right this could be one of THE places to play in the midlands.... I lookin forward to goin back!

I am a member here, it may not be the best course in England, and probally will never be the best. But it offer a warm welcome, great greens, and views on the front nine. It will test players of all handicaps. Great 19th hole, with a good resteraunt. The best changing rooms I have seen so far. Great Variation. It also has a practice ground to warm up if you want to. If you are in Herefordshire this course is well worth a visit!
