My local course. On its day Tapton is a gem, SIV have done a great job since coming in, And most of the time is now in great condition, greens I find are very inconsistent, sometimes fine others a little slow and woolly. Give it a miss in wet weather or take your wellies. Club house warm and welcoming.

This course comprises both an 18 and a 9 hole course, both of which are a great challenge. I have played both courses many times and can highly recommend them. The 9 hole Dobbin Course starts off with a real card wrecker, a steep uphill dog leg right that has left me frustrated on more than one occasion. If you've only got time for a quick 9, or it's one of those bitterly cold winter mornings then this is a great way to spend a couple of hours or so. The main course starts you off with 3 nice and gentle holes and then bites you in the bum with 4 stinkers that are a great challenge. It's quite hilly in places, but buggies can be hired. The club shop sells the usual basics, the bar area has recently been "done-up" and the food is excellent. The staff are brilliant, with only 1 exception, but I've only seen him twice in 20 years. The greens on the main course are more of a challenge on the 9, you need to book on the main course, but you can usually just turn up for the 9.

The Dobbin Clough is a tricky 9 hole course with a great mixture of pars. The 2613 yard Par 34 offers a challenge for beginners to players with a handicap of 10; this well established parkland course offers great views, great golf so I totally recommend it. The welcome is always friendly; the pro shop is well stocked and has all the facilities needed for a great day’s golf.
