Great Yarmouth & Caister Golf Club

What we say
Great Yarmouth & Caister Golf Club is a fine example of a traditional links-style golf course laid out nearly 125 years ago and founded in 1882 by Dr Thomas Browne RN, a surgeon at the nearby Royal Naval Hospital in Great Yarmouth.
Famous for the quality and stability of the greens, it is a challenging golf course requiring accuracy as well as the ability to produce shots to meet the challenge of undulating fairways. Off the fairways, gorse and marram grasses punish the wayward. Being open and close to the seashore, the weather plays a large part in success or failure. That said, it challenges all abilities of golfer.

turned up on the monday 15 quid special thinking we had got a good deal as the green fee is usually 36 pounds how dissapointed we were!!! first off you have to drive off through the racecourse railings and try to find the 1st green. the course gives you preffered lies due to no grass on the fairways only little tufts here and there only positive was the greens were in good shape. the back 9 is slightly better than the front! just to prove i'm not just moaning when we went into the pro shop the pro said " yeah you don't need a yardage book everything is quite straightforward and you shouldn't hit much traffic as alot of our members have been leaving to join other local clubs!!! i can see why!!! rookery park is a few miles down the road and a cracking little course
