What we say
This venue sits right alongside the busy A1 and has a lot going for it although at first glance the main course looks relatively bland and uninspiring.
It is flat and open and an inland-links style layout – a soft touch in ideal conditions, but a completely different ball game when it’s blowing a ‘hooley.’
There’s a decent mix of holes with the par-5 16th being one of the best though you’ll do well to find the green in two. Even if you do manage to pull it off, two putting on a green with subtle breaks is by no means a given.
Rutland Co. boasts excellent all round facilities including a 20-bay floodlit driving range and nine-hole par 3 course and you can’t knock it when it comes to value-for-money – if you don’t mind an early start you can play for a mere fiver in midweek (the first four tee blocks at the start of the day costs just £20)!

Played here around 5 time now and I love it! Plenty of fantastic holes that test all standards of players. Everything is cut nicely and all is well kept. However in the wind can be an extremely difficult course as is it out in the open with zero shelter. The price is great value for such a nice course. Also the practice facilities are great and good value at only £2 for 60(approx) balls.

Played this in winter on winter greens but found it to be a pretty boring place. Wants to be a links course but in reality it's a farmer's field with a few contours. Can be testing though to be fair and isn't too pricey. Just don't play it if the wind's howling!
