Belton Woods Hotel – Lakes Course
Last updated:
What we say
Popular resort with the championship Lakes layout, featuring water features galore including a nailbiting finale, backed-up by the more scenic Woodside with its gently rolling fairways.
This golf course always drains really well and is always in good nick. There is water in play on qute a few holes and the subtle undulations can leave you with many awkward lies.
There are some great holes and the par-5 9th on the Lakes golf course is a massive 600 yards!

The superb 6,831-yard championship Lakes golf course has been beautifully sculptured and boasts an exceptional layout.
Most greens are guarded by water hazards, so accuracy, and nerve, are needed in approach shots round here.
The long holes, tight fairways and well-guarded greens can make scoring difficult, particularly for high-handicappers. However, if you're willing to sacrifice a good score, a round on the beautifully difficult Lakes Course can be enjoyable nonetheless.
The golf course also boasts the par-5 9th, one of the longest holes in the country at 609 yards.

This complex - (I have played both courses) is rather classy. It offers all the facilities that a golfer could want off the course and at the usual DeVere standard. The courses are both fine layouts, with little to choose between them in terms of the overall experience, although a more forgiving course for the wayward drivers (me) I would probably say that the Lakes has it. The pro shop & staff are first rate and the approch to the hotel over a lake is one that will live with you in your memories.

Execllent weather (always helps). We found a fine test of golf for men and ladies alike. Well worth a visit. Good facilities and friendly helpful staff.

The coarse is great but very wet at the moment with all the rain we have had belton woods is not the best place to play golf. Facilities and hotel are fantastic but the golf would be far too wet. unless you wear wellies and a wet suit.
