What we say
Set in the rolling Essex countryside, Top Meadow is suited to both long and short hitters alike.
While distance is beneficial around almost any course, including here, the key to scoring well round Top Meadow is definitely accuracy. Stray, wild shots will be eaten up by the many water hazards and bunkers, meaning you can rack up big scores quite quickly.
The Par-3 18th is widely regarded as the course's signature hole and from the comfort of the clubhouse, you can watch other groups try to navigate this tricky hole.
Top Meadow Golf club was established in 1985 and has matured to a great parkland course. Top Meadow is a family run club which was established by Anthony Stock and has been sucessfully run by his family since.

A couple of years ago the course was in a poor state but it is now vastly improved. A good mix of holes, some you can go at with the driver, others requiring a bit more thought. 3,6,10,16 tees are at the top of a ridge & have good views of the hole below. Tees were lush, greens firm & relatively flat. All holes are close together but there is a 200 yard walk from the 9th to the 10th. Good course for mid-handicappers, possibly a bit easy for single figure players but for £16 a go mid-week with a cooked breakfast thrown in an absolute bargain.
