Average fairway conditions. Poor bunker conditions. No marshalling of poor golfing society taking 5+ hours. No food available after 4PM even though we played on Open Championship final Monday. 12 people wanted food at 4:10pm. Rudest bar person in the world, on making a polite enquiry about food. Menus on the bar and all tables, but no food available. Spoke to manager, promised redress. 6 days later, still waiting. I used to be a member and they wonder why I didn't renew. You may feel this is sour grapes. A 75 year old asked what time food finished, the answer - 'it's finished, isn't it'. Enquired again, wanting an answer for future reference and got the same answer. Didn't listen didn't care. Buggy required ear defenders, no alternate available , exhaust rattling. Green's cored, grass had regrown, but looked and played like a bumpy chessboard. I only had 28 putts, but would have expected to be sub 24. It is advertised as a championship course. It isn't.

Played mid week on a 2 fore 1; course was in great condition particularly the greens (not that it helped my putting!). Not very long but you have to think your way round, a good test and an easy flat walking course. Lots of holes going right to left and plenty of well placed ditches and bunkers. Would definitely go back, beer was a little pricey though.

Scored 38 points, my best ever as a 28 handicap but course & club were just average compared to my home club (Benton Hall, Witham) and others i've played. No real complaints though
