The amin course at Frinton is called the Havers, a seaside course that provides a fine test of golf. At 6,265 yards, Frinton is not excessively long by modern standards and, at first glance, the open fairways with their lack of trees may seem unchallenging. But this is certainly not the whole story. The fast, firm, undulating greens test the best putters and the tidal ditches across many fairways requiring accurately placed shots.
The trademark of the links course, the ever-changing sea breeze, demands careful club selection on every hole. Its greens are probably the best all year round greens in the region, especially as they rarely use temporary tees or greens in the winter months.

From first arrival when members were friendly and most helpful to the final drink before leaving it was a joy to visit this course. The staff in the Pro Shop were welcoming helpful and made us feel very relaxed. You would not have know the deluge the course had encountered a few days before as the tees, greens and fairways were in excellent condition. It is not often you see the teaching Pro silence a crowed of exuberant youngsters as you stand on the tee about to take your shot. An excellent selection of food in the restaurant served by great staff. It was certainly worth the 1.5Hour journey, but allow extra time in the summer school holidays because the traffic can be difficult. Try going through Wix to avoid some of the jams.

Did not except 2 fore 1 vouchers . Refused to acknowledge Todays Golder handicap certificate. Had to beg to play the course. Was not made at all welcome as a guest. When finally on the course, found it to be in good condition. This once attractive club house is now showing its age. Would not visit again.
