What we say
Located just 35 minutes from central London, Epping Golf Course is a good venue on the doorstep of ther capital.
The well-manicured course is short and forgiving, providing plenty of good scoring opportunities and it's a good course for players new to the game to practice because of the lack of punishment.
The wide variety of tee positions mean that golfers will get a chance to use all of their clubs round this picturesque, well-kept course.

An interesting course not least because it is shorter off the yellow tees than the red. The welcome was second to none and the friendly atmosphere was mirrored by the members we met. The only down side was the lack of changing facilities for visitors but all in all an really enjoyable test.

I love playing at Epping Golf Club. Apart from being down the road you get great value for just £12 mon-Fri. For a small establishment, as golf clubs go, this course is fantastic for any level golfer who just enjoys the game. Unless you drive 250 yd every time, very few greens are reachable in one of the yellows, meaning the game requires just as much concentration as anywhere else that doesn't cost a fortune. 2 criticisms: 1) needs more bunkers with real sand, not the glass stuff, 2) Very few level tees to be found, could all do with a bit of work. Otherwise, fairways and greens in great shape all year round and really friendly club to play at.

The welcome at Epping is very friendly and a round is very reasonably priced. The staff have worked extremely hard in recent times and the Tees and Greens have come on leaps and bounds. This isn't the longest course out there and big hitters may find it more useful to leave the driver in the car, but the undulating fairways still provide a good test and make you think about where to (try to) land every shot. The recent addition of a few extra bunkers helps add to the challenge and the water hazards are well placed to catch out the intermediate golfer. If you haven't played for a while, or just want to have a confidence boosting round then Epping is ideal, not too easy but reachable and forgiving. You won't meet more polite and friendly members either.
