St Ives Golf Club

What we say

St. Ives is a demnding course, with well maintained fairways and greens, and it's one of the first courses in the UK to use 'velvet bent' grass on the greens which should make make them pretty quick!

Although the links-style course can be brutal when the wind blows, the option of four different tees to suits different abilities ensures that it's always a firm but fair test.

St Ives also boasts excellent practice facilities and is the home of the Titleist National Fitting Centre.

Your Reviews

  • 4 out of 5 The new course.

    By John Prideaux

This course has moved approx' five years ago so ignore my review below. It's now an eighteen holer and is like a cross between an inland links and a heathland course. Trees are sparse and it incorporates some of Cambridgeshire's greatest undulations, I kid you not! I certainly gets a little blowy out there, which adds to the difficulty of an already challenging course. Look out for the: par three 12th, over water; the par five eighteenth with water all over the place and the plaque on the seventeenth marking the finishing place of Robert Karlssons drive.

Nice little narrow nine-holer, situated right between the main St Ives/Huntingdon road and the River Great Ouse, some variation on the double tees. Good standard greens and bunkers. Par 4, 3rd/12th, sharp dogleg right with a raised green and par 3, 7th/16th, with about a fifty foot drop? For me are probably the most interesting holes on the course. No need to book just make sure the course is clear. As a non-member they charged me a pound a hole, not bad on a Saturday. Don't leave it too long though, there's plans to dig up some of the holes for developement soon and the club is moving to a new area with 18 holes etc..... next Summer.
