Elton Furze Golf Club

What we say
This is a top-notch course with some really good holes and a couple of ordinary ones.
The opening stretch is pretty good, but around the end of the front nine there are a couple of bland holes. It’s fairly long and the trees can make some tee shots hazardous.
Coming down the stretch is not for the faint-hearted with out of bounds down the left most of the way. The course uses the natural contours of the landscape and several small lakes and water features provide both an attractive and interesting layout.
It’s well worth the green fee and is generally in pretty good nick. The clubhouse is cosy and it’s a friendly little club.
Elton Furze Golf Club provides 18 holes, designed as two loops of nine, and has made use of the natural contours of the landscape, as well as many other mature parkland trees which were on site before development began. The siting of several small lakes and water courses provides a very attractive and interesting golf course.
In addition, there is a 250-yard driving range which also accommodates four covered bays, a practice bunker, chipping green and putting green, all within close proximity of the Clubhouse. Elton Furze has a reputation of being a very friendly club, with a golf course that is maintained to the highest of standards.

Just thought I had better share my 2nd experience with everyone. Well, what can I say, the whole experience was much better for all concerned after I was contacted by Ben (Managing Partner) because I left poor feedback on this site. It's great to know that some take their reputations seriously enough to do something about it. Hats off to Elton Furze, and special thanks to the young lad in the Pro Shop, sorry don't know your name but he was lots better.

Arranged a 4 ball via internet with reduced fee. Arrived in plenty of time, Course was full of other players, members & tournament. Treated abruptly by course official - even though we werent informed by the Pro=Shop 'If you dont tee off within the next 10 minutes we are closing the tee @ 12:45 then you will not be able to play!!!!' Are we supposed to kick other golfers off the tee or should the course invest and pay someone to be an official starter - I know which they should do!!!!! Managed to tee of from the empty 10th instead, then got soaked during the round Note I havent said anything about the course - but I think most players, if they feel they are welcome will say that in reviews, if you have bad customer service you will always let others know as well because after all it is your hard earned cash these clubs are after

This may not be a jaw-dropper but it's always in tip top nick. It's a great course at a great price. Just a solid course at a sensible green fee. there's a range and the clubhouse is modern with good food and drink. This is what mid-priced golf for most 'averagea' players is all about. greens are good and there are half a dozen cracking holes.... hard to fault

I've only managed to play this course once a year over the last 5 years and everytime I come back to play it, it just keeps getting better and better. It's maturing into a real little gem and has some fantastic holes. The clubhouse has just had a refurb and it blows other clubhouses apart. Happy golfing and I look forward to reading what other people think of this lovely club.

I played this course at the beginning of the season (April) and at that time of year I felt it wasn't looking or playing its best. I didn't enjoy playing the course, but half of that was my own fault; I was playing shockingly bad. The guys I was playing with were playing well, but also felt the same about the course; that we would have enjoyed it more later in the season with some warmth and sunshine (we wish!). The layout and positioning of some of the tees was quite confusing at times; yes, we got totally lost at one point, when just a discreet sign at the greenside pointing us in the right direction would have helped us on our way. I would like to play this course again, just to dispel some of my own demons, but generally I did not feel the course itself gave us value for money. Seems like I'll have to wait for next season and pray for some sunshine, an end to the credit crunch and a better display from myself.

A relatively hilly course despite being on the edge of the fens. Good facilities and clubhouse. Not a long course but a real test and really worth a visit.

A superbly laid out course and great design, although not one of the longer courses a great course none the less, good practice area and clubhouse making it a great place to play golf.
