The Duke's course is one of the finest inland golfing settings in Europe. It was the location for the British Masters for 20 years and, since 2008, has been home to the Travis Perkins Group Senior Masters and other top men's and women's professional events.

Designed by Charles Lawrie in 1974, when the late 14th Duke of Bedford decided to bring golf to the Woburn Estate, the 6,983 yard Duke's course sports fairways lined with pine, silver birch and chestnut trees. Heather, bracken and gorse add to the charm of the course as well as providing some of the natural hazards of each hole. The famous third hole, framed by rhododendron bushes, has recently been voted into the 'World's Top 500 Holes' by Golf Magazine.

Ian Poulter plays here when he's in the UK, regularly using the club's practice facilities.

  I think ther dukes is the best course at woburn...   it's giot everything... long tight drives, cheeky par 3s and some very tough par 4s and par 5s....   There is so many chots you have to play here to score well and the greens are demanding too...   There isn't a bad course at woburnj to be fair but if i could only play one for the rest of my life... the dukes would get the nod...

  PLAYED THE DUKES COURSE A FEW DAYS AGO AND I HAVE TO SAY IT IS 2ND TO NONE. THE WHOLE SET UP FROM RANGE TO THE 18TH IS PERFECTION, THEY SAY A TRUE MEASURE OF A COURSE IS HOW MANY HOLES YOU CAN REMEMBER AFTER PLAYING IT.  EVERY ONE STICKS IN MY MINDS EYE, THE 3RD IS JUST A SCARY TEE SHOT DON'T LEAVE IT SHORT DON'T GO RIGHT NO ROOM LEFT AND WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T GO LONG.  THEN THE 4TH PROBABLY MY FAVORITE HOLE ON THE COURSE.  AND SO IT GOES ON EVERY PAR 3 IS BREATH TAKING EVERY FAIRWAY PERFECT EVERY GREEN SCARY FAST BUT RUNNING TRUE IF YOU HIT IT WELL. THE CLUB HOUSE IS FRIENDLY THE STAFF ARE WELCOMING AND HELPFULL ALL IN ALL WE HAD A GREAT DAYS GOLF AND A GREAT DAY OUT THANKS TO ALL AT WOBURN. LOOKING FORWARD TO PLAYING THE OTHER 2 COURSES IN THE NEAR FUTURE

  this course makes you hit the ball straight, a delight to play and you dont seem to see a soul because of all the trees. the little Par 3 down the hill is a joy to play
