Edzell lies at the gateway to the Grampians in the foothills of the Angus Glens, the mountains forming a lovely backdrop to this mixture of heathland and parkland. The original was laid out in 1895 by Bob Simpson before being adapted by James Braid and since then it remains virtually unchanged to this day.
