The sheer beauty of this heathland layout gives it its high ranking. Despite technology advances, the course has not undergone any major changes and might be regarded as a little short. But to a stingy par of 68 it is tight, tricky and warrants your full attention. That keeps it a challenge in today’s equipment era and many consider it the equal of the likes of Walton Heath and The Berkshire.
