What we say
Located on the extreme north western corner of the island, this Seve-inspired course is the island’s latest pride and joy. With the volcanic Teno mountain range and the Atlantic Ocean forming the backdrop – and a few water hazards thrown in to add to the fun – many of the holes are truly spectacular. While it may prove a stiff challenge on your first visit, you’ll be gagging to give it another go once you know which way the holes go. With a par of 72 and a total length of 6,600 yards, the course boasts some of the finest (and quickest) greens to be found anywhere, and the whole experience is rounded off with great complete-game practice facilities and a superb clubhouse.
Buenavista will similarly take your breath away – a masterpiece of a Seve Ballesteros layout between the mountains and sea.

This Seve Ballesteros-designed track sits on a plateau between the Atlantic and the impressive Teno mountain range. The layout has six par threes, fours and fives, and generous landing areas let you open your shoulders. Several greens are sited on the edge of the cliffs, giving you the feeling you're hitting straight into the ocean. Expect a stiff breeze –and the sight of wave spray flying up to the fairways.

BUENAVISTA, The name says it all and the 10th green has bunkers with the initials S B after the designer the one and only great Seve. I have played golf all over Spain, Portugal, Mallorca & Florida but this course is one of the best I have ever played. Before you even set foot on the course you stand at the reception desk and when you look out of the panoramic window towards The Atlantic the beauty and layout of the course unfolds beneath you. It has everything and when the wind is blowing the breakers onto the rocks below you it becomes very tricky as well. I have been lucky enough to play this magnificient venue on several occasions and I feel that the majority of visitors to the Island are missing out by not travelling north to play this course. I have recently returned from a visit and played this course on two occasions with some friends and also some locals who make you very welcome. My friends from England were to say the least gobsmacked when they played this course.
