Amarilla Golf and Country Club

What we say
This Donald Steel-designed track, opened in 1989, makes excellent use of the coastal ravines to produce some riveting coastal golf. Amarilla hosted the Tenerife Open in 1989 and is no mean challenge for the very best – but it's still pretty playable for all standards. Away from the spectacular coast, the course makes use of black volcanic sand to border the bunkers, while the impressive Mt Teide volcano completes a visual feast.

Well presented fairways with good holding greens but they need to be on this course threaded through the holiday bungalows and houses. Good views over the sea but close to airport and some noise from aircraft.
