Flamingos Golf Club

What we say
Flamingos Golf Club, anĀ Antonio Garrido golf course, was only opened in 2001 but was immediately picked by the Daily Telegraph as the venue for the European Seniors Matchplay final. This is a very scenic golf course bordered by a lake to one side, over which you can spy the sea. Elsewhere, streams and copious sand traps give you plenty to think about.

Tough course but well worth a visit. Elevated Tee's, tight fairways, fast greens and stunning views. We hired buggies were all fitted with Satelite Navigation, and I would stronly recomend that you hire them. There is sometimes quite a drive between greens and the next tee. This was my favourite course from a recent visit to Southern Spain.

A great course with some of the most stunning holes of golf I've ever seen. Many of the greens had been treated when I played there, but those that hadn't were in great nick and perfectly true to put on. A great test for all golfers but not overly long. Recommended for the scenery alone!

I Can't believe some of the negative reviews this course has received. This is simply the best on the Costa Del Sol. Make no mistake it is spectacular and the course lives up to the surrounding scenery. The course as reviewed is a mixture of flat pitched over long ravines and the second nine is up into the mountains. Everything is fantastic from the underground car park to the two beutifully kept putting greens.... You should give this one a go...

The course is set in in a fantastic complex with breath taking views of the med on one side and the mountains on the other. The course it self was fairly challenging and still being developed in parts. The greens were well kept and moderately fast and the fairways where well maintained.

Though we played the course in torrential rain (the wettest conditions I've played in this year) the course was superb and played exceptionally. Driving had to be accurate and we all agreed that the greens were still unbelievably fast even with all the rain they were getting. We plan to return in 2007 to play it again (what more can you say then that even if it's raining). Note the 1st & 10th are exceptional golf holes did I say the views are exceptional too.
