Cabopino Golf Club

What we say
Cabopino Golf Club opened in 2001, this short but pretty layout is protected by narrow fairways, lake-flanked greens and umbrella pines. It's worth playing if only to take on the 3rd – a driveable par-4 with the tee perched miles above the fairway.

While my car was parked right outside the glass window of the shop at Cabopio golf my car got broken into and all my belogings stolen. According to the locals this is a regular thing at Cabopino Golf. If you value your car or possessions I recommend you stay away!

Overall the course was in good condition and all the staff were friendly. Unlike so many courses, the green staff did know when to switch off their equipment when you played. You need to be straight off the tee on many holes and it is quite possible to play this well without the driver. Allow plenty of time to find it - don't rely on TomTom - preferably the day before. As with all courses in this area, it is expensive compared to comparable UK courses and you need to buy your refreshments in a supermarket first. A buggy is a must unless you are quite fit.

What can I say, I really nice course. Very tight in places with some amazing views and landscape....Only the greens let it down. Some were very bare in places, which was a shame as the course itself was very good. A good range of lengths and difficulty. some well placed hazards and some very narrow fairways with wicked slopes. The clubhouse and restaurant are small but friendly. It is a little bit difficult to find..but worth finding even if just for the 3rd hole.

Not the best course on the costa del sol but a lot of fun & certainly value for money in relation to its more expensive neighbours. The 3rd certainly is different & a buggy a MUST! But good fun!

This is not an easy course to actually get to, and when you do it is to a fairly bland clubhouse. The first 7 holes are in extremely poor condition, and the 7th green was the worst I have ever seen a green in Spain. Bare patches, lumpy & uneven. It is tucked into a corner between trees & gets little or no sun there. The remaining 11 holes were the saving grace, in good condition and with some lovely views out to sea. Overall, this would be classed as a well used municipal back home & certainly not one I will be hurrying back to anytime soon!
