What we say
Waterford Castle Hotel and Golf Resort lies on an island on the River Suir and can only be reached by ferry, which is where the fun begins. An undemanding course, it entertains more than it challenges.
Located on a private island with an area of just over 300 acres, Waterford Castle Golf Club offers an 18 hole parkland course, surrounded by mature woodland, designed by Des Smyth. The course itself occupies more than 200 acres, and features hazards presented by mature tree-lined fairways, and ample bunkers, along with some water hazards.

Visited 30th April 09. From the moment you get on the ferry to cross the River Suir, and then drive up to the club house car park, you just know that you are going to enjoy this course. The fairways are well kept and greens quick and undulating. Some beautful par 3's with water hazards and stunning views out onto the Waterford countryside. The course is mature and very challenging and many times during tee off, we often were held up by the biggest hares i have seen, just darting across in front of us, not to mention the Deer meandering around the course. This Golf course is a must if visiting Waterford. Paul Sullivan, Surrey.
