Porto Santo Golf Club

You’ll find this terrific Seve Ballesteros-designed layout on Madeira’s neighbouring island of Port Santo which you can get to either by plane or ferry crossing. Believe us, Porto Santo Golf Club’s well worth making the effort. It has only been open just over a year, but it’s in immaculate condition and has several memorable holes, including the dramatic clifftop par-3 13th which is swiftly followed by a short but thrilling do-or-die par 4. 

Porto Santo offers a number of thrills, its clifftop location again gives rise to breathtaking holes on the rocky terrain of the eponymous island which lies north-east of Madeira. Host of the Madeira Open, think Nefyn & District… just a lot warmer.

Designed by Spanish golfing legend Seve Ballesteros, Porto Santo Golf Club opened in 2004 and the layout was designed to blend in harmoniously with the landscape. Seve has already designed another 18-hole layout while a nine-hole par-3 golf course is already on site along with quality floodlit practice facilities.

  Went to porto santo last October. Could not believe that you can play the 9th best course in Portugal alone. The first day I played this truly beautiful course I played with a chap from Ireland and his wife who have moved to Madeira. We were the only Golfers on the course. It has some truly outstanding holes and although a little expensive. If you enjoy your golf you must put this on your list.
