Boavista Golf Course

What we say
Boavista Golf Course only opened in 2002 but has already won many golfiing friends and is proving a real star in the west. Built on a flat area just a shortish drive from the Atlantic close to the breathtaking Praia da Luz beach, the layout has contrasting nines and a wide variety of holes. The par 3s are terrific but the top hole is the par-4 7th with its Atlantic backdrop and sweeping panoramic vistas to the mountains.
Soft Spikes mandatory
Boavista Golf opened on 1st January 2002, the impressive 18 Hole Championship golf course has been designed by Howard Swan MSc, past president of The European Institute of Golf Course Architects. His philosophy - to create a course as if it has always been there - has been sensitively applied at Boavista, preserving, integrating and harmonising with the area's natural terrain.

Absolutely stunning course, was in excellent condition. Beautiful views towards the Atlantic. Friendly and welcoming clubhouse staff. Would have got a slightly higher score if it wasn't for the course marshall moaning at our fourball for taking too long and letting another group through, even though it was our first round there and two of us had lost our balls on one hole.
-
Great course. Lots of variety and some holes (like the par 3 across the ravine) you really look forward to. Always enjoy it.
-
Windy hollotined greens and apart from the par 3 across the ravine, it's not a good looking course
-
Great course and great staff. Just a shame you back up at the Par 3 over the ravine, 3 groups on the tee, plus a single player came up behind our group.
-
Have played it twice but will not rush back to play again.

Top stuff. Hard to fault.
