Alex Lodge is the Equipment Editor of todays-golfer.com. He specializes in all things golf gear, spending most of his days engrossed by the golf clubs that could improve your game.
Having tested hundreds of golf clubs over the years, Alex is especially passionate about metalwoods. He has an impressive clubhead speed of more than 120mph but is always searching for the driver that will find more fairways and help lower his 4.2 handicap.
Alex took up the game almost two decades ago and spent his teens working in pro shops and American Golf. His golf media journey began in 2020 at GolfMagic, where he headed up their YouTube channel for almost five years, reviewing and testing the latest releases and delving into the best products for your game. He joined Today’s Golfer in January 2025.
During his time in the golf industry, Alex has been fortunate enough to play with some of the world’s best players, including Charley Hull and Lexi Thompson. He’s covered tournaments from The Open to the BMW PGA Championship, and played some incredible courses, including Royal County Down, Yas Links, and St. Andrews Old. He is a member of Mannings Heath Golf & Wine Estate.
Away from golf, Alex enjoys spending time with his two dogs Ted and Eric, going to the gym to gain a few extra yards on his drives, and watching Tottenham Hotspur lose again.
